RasGas Venture Group Celebrates Safety Performance

Doha, February 04 (QNA) - RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recently celebrated a major milestone with the successful completion of 30 million man hours with no Loss Time Incident (LTI). The company s Venture Group that manages several huge projects ranging from the Barzan Project to the Helium 2 Project today honoured its employees and contractors who made this achievement possible at a celebration in Doha, the company said in a statement. "Achieving 30 million man-hours without an LTI is an outstanding achievement, especially given the size and pace of the mega projects that this team is executing. The Barzan Project is currently utilizing more than 21,000 workers while the Helium 2 Project peaked at 1,300 workers. Our employees, contractors and workers, many from different parts of the world, have worked tirelessly to ensure that we have an injury free workplace. Today we celebrate this focus on excellence in safety and we will renew our commitment to sustaining an injury-free workplace as we continue to execute our projects reliably and with integrity," said Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, RasGas Managing Director. RasGas continues to be at the forefront of safety performance in the oil and gas industry through the application of best practice safety management processes and positive leadership behaviours. The event was hosted at the Ritz Carlton in Doha where senior staff and representatives from shareholder companies, Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, gathered to present recognition awards to representatives from the Venture departments and projects teams as well as key contractors and subcontractors for their outstanding performance. RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is the operator of all RasGas projects and is owned by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. RasGas operates production facilities to treat, liquefy and export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Based in Ras Laffan, Qatar, RasGas currently has seven LNG trains in operation. (QNA)
