RAP Summer Camp launched

Manama, July 25 (BNA): The Commander of the Royal Academy of Police (RAP), Colonel Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa announced on Saturday the launch of the 7th summer camp of the academy under the patronage of His Royal Highness, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, in cooperation with Tamkeen and a number of public and private organizations and NGOs. He told a press conference at the Public Security Officer Club, in a presence of the Commander of Officer Training College, Lt-Col. Ammar Al Sayed and CO of Operations at Tamkeen, Amal A Kooheji, that as part of the directives of HRH Crown Prince and the activation of the concept of community partnership the camp is organized by the Interior Ministry to promote security and stability. The camp is a continuation of efforts of the ministry to develop mental and physical capabilities of youth and direct their energies to achieve the best interests of all. The camp covers 1200 male and female students from the age group 12-17, in which they will be divided to groups under the supervision of 300 officers and trainers from RAP, Community Police and various departments of the ministry. The camp that continues until August 13 includes a host of cultural, social and sports activities and events to enhance the leadership skills, discipline and self-reliance of the participants. Lt-Col. Ammar that the camps includes lectures, workshops and practical activities, in addition to field visits. The students will be trained at various accredited bodies and will be provided with certificates. They will be covered in computer, information security, leadership, democracy, citizenship, tolerance and voluntary work training, in addition to projects of the National Strategic Plan to Develop Bahraini Women, handicraft and heritage, speech and debates, social responsibility, English and French languages, first aid and domestic violence. Al Kooheji highlighted the dedication of Tamkeen to support Bahraini youth to enhance their talents and skills, hailing the camps and its various activities that show the care the ministry provides to Bahraini youth.
