QQA reviews improved performance

Manama, Nov. 4 (BNA): The National Authority of Qualifications and Quality Assurance for Education and Training (QQA) Chief Executive Dr. Jawaher Al Mudhahki has affirmed that the results of the vocational institutes reviews showed an increase in the quality assurance awareness of institutes engaged in the training market, which enhanced the quality insurance importance and embedded it in frameworks.
Dr. Al Mudhahki said in a statement that QQA succeeded in overcoming many obstacles thanks to the cooperation and integration with the relevant authorities, especially the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Social Development and Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen, through the "strategy to enhance the performance of vocational training institutions" committee that is headed by QQA and events to review the best practices, adding that publishing QQA annual reviews helped at promoting the culture of quality assurance at the training sector.
She said that a comparative study has been conducted by QQA on the training institutions' performance during the first and second cycles of reviews, showed significant improve in these institutions' performance.
Dr. Al Mudhahki added that the published vocational reviews' results contain clear information on institutions' quality and performance, in order to help ministries and relevant authorities at making decisions that support and guide the development of training institutions.
QQA started to review the performance of 113 vocational training institutions within the third cycle in April 2015, as a part of seven stages that ends in June 2018. It reviewed 9 training institutions on the first stage of this cycle and started the second stage last October.
QQA ensures that the framework, which is updated at the end of each review cycle, is in accordance with international frameworks and compatible with international standards.
