QNA Wraps Up a Cinematography Training Session

Doha, March 15 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) has concluded Thursday a five- day training session on Cinematography where 12 trainees participated. The session, held at QNA headquarters, conforms to the series of sessions the QNA Media Relations Administration which the agency holds to train and qualify Qatari cadres working in media field. Including both theoretical and practical approaches, the training combined the attributes of camera use for shooting news, audio capture, camera moves, videotaping along with getting introduced to the television camera, motion picture editing and framing techniques. The session was presented by Ibrahim Saber, a graduate of Netherlands Film and Television Academy and the German foundation of Friedrich-Ebert for television production, and a lecturer on film making in Virginia Commonwealth -Qatar (VCU-Q). Saber received many honoring awards and merit certificates of which the golden award of Cairo Television Festival for best animated feature is one of them. QNA Director of Media Relations Department, Ahmad Mohammad Al Buainein, stressed the significance of this training session to boost skills and abilities of Qatari Media figures in cinematography, a field that requires high professionalism and skills to cover multiple events, news stories, interviews and more. Al Buainein said this session came following a series of others, the agency held along the previous months including sessions on "Economic news writing", "English news editing", "Skills of Public relations directors in dealing with journalism", "photojournalism", "Journalistic translation", and "Sports news editing". The sessions came in compliance to the Emiri Decree No. 51 for the year 2009 which assigned QNA to hold training sessions to Qatari media figures to foster their skills and raise their level of professionalism through continuous training and developing programmes.
