QCCI, Gambian Delegation Meet

Doha, March 05 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) held a meeting here on Monday with a delegation from Gambia to discuss ways of cooperation in the filed of recruiting Gambian workforce in Qatar. A statement issued by the QCCI said today that Hamad Rashid Al Athba, board member of the Chamber, stressed the importance of training workers to give them the necessary skills and qualify them before bringing them to the labor market, emphasizing the Chamber's readiness to promote the Gambian workforce to the Qatari businessmen and inform them of the areas and skills mastered by them. He added that the boom in the State of Qatar is currently open the door for the Gambian workforce provided that they are qualified and fully trained to work and contribute to the desired development in the fields of nursing, engineering, construction, hotel services and others. For her part, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation and Employment in Gambia, Navi Bari, said that the visit aimed at following up the cooperation agreement signed in Qatar in 2010 on the promotion of Gambian workforce in Qatar.(QNA)
