Qatar's Music Arts Centre to Celebrate Graduation of Its Fourth Batch

Doha, May 06 (QNA) - The Music Arts Centre, operated by the Youth Centres Department at Qatar's Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage, will hold the graduation ceremony for the fourth batch of the Centre at Qatar National Theatre students on May 25, under the patronage of HE the Minister of Culture Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari. The Head of the Musical Arts Centre Abdullah Mirza announced the formation of a special troupe composed of the centre's students which, he said, is now ready to perform at the State of Qatar's national ceremonies as well as other occasions. In a statement to Qatar News Agency Mirza said the ceremony will focus on emerging musicians through sweet tunes and pieces played on the piano, guitar, violin and cello in addition to the takht ensemble (oriental classical orchestra). Children from the centre will make a choir appearance of a variety of Arab and Gulf songs as well as individual performances, Mirza added. Music plays a major role in our society and is closely linked with our daily life, he indicated underlining the importance of paying attention to music through refining young talents in a scientific manner. The Music Arts Centre holds evenings featuring its students playing all musical instruments. It aims to attract young talents and teach them music according to academic and scientific basis with the help of the best specialized teachers. (QNA)
