Qatar's Hosting Of Arab Towns Conference Supports Joint Arab Work - Minister

Doha , May 13 (QNA) - HE Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Thani has underlined that Qatar's hosting of the 16th conference of the Arab Towns Organization, which starts on Tuesday, reflects the Qatar's backing to joint Arab work in different fields HE the Minister was speaking to the organization's Al Ja'eza (The Prize) magazine added that Qatar's support for such efforts has given the country a distinctive status under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. HE the Minister noted that the Qatari leadership welcomed holding the 16th conference in Doha after it became impossible to be held in Syria's Aleppo city , as was scheduled. HE the Minister stressed that State of Qatar provides all the capabilities necessary to make the conference a success, as is the case with all the events the country hosts. On the event, HE the Minister expressed his delight with the strong participation that this year's conference was witnessing from regional and international authorities. His Excellency added that such strong participation helps make the conference more special. HE the Minister also praised the strong cooperation between the Ministry of Municipality and Urban planning and the General-secretariat Arab Towns Organization since establishing the prize and choosing Doha as headquarters for it. HE the Minister said that the State of Qatar was providing all the support necessary to the organization, due to the State's belief that such events help maintain the identity of Arab cities. (QNA)
