Qatari Prime Minister Holds Meetings in New York

New York, January 30 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani , who is also Chairman of the Arab Committee on Syria met here today with China's, Russia's and Morocco's Permanent Representatives to the United Nations respectively Li Baodong, Vitaly Churkin, and Mohammed Loulichki. HE the Premier and Foreign Minister also met at the seat of Qatar Mission to the UN in New York, with Representatives of EU member states to the UN Security Council including Portugal's C. Morais , Germany's Peter Wittig, Britain's Mark Lyall Grants, France's Gerard Araud, as well as US Permanent Delegate to the UN Susan Rice. HE the Premier and Foreign Ministers also met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman,. Discussions during the meetings dealt with efforts being made by the Arab League to resolve the crisis in Syria within the framework of the Arab initiative .. Talks also dealt with the decision of the Arab Ministerial Council requesting the UN Security Council to adopt the Arab Initiative aims to end violence, stop the bloodbath in Syria and restore security and stability there. The meetings were attended by HE the Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi and members of the delegation accompanying HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.(QNA)
