Qatari Diplomat Visits Syrian Refugees Camp in Jordan
Amman, August 08 (QNA) - The Charge' d' Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Amman Saad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud along with ambassadors and representatives of the GCC states visited Wednesday the Zaatari Camp for the Syrian refugees in Jordan.
Al Mahmoud stressed the importance and the need to provide more supplies to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian refugees in the camp.
He said that the State of Qatar has contributed early to supporting the brethren Syrian refugees on Jordanian territory, adding the Qatari support was upon the directives of our wise leadership, has not stopped.
He noted that the duty requires a continuous flow of more aid and the provision of health, social and humanitarian services and to stand by our people of the refugees who were forced to leave their homes and resort to this camp to escape the situation there.
Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said that more than one hundred and fifty thousand Syrians fled to Jordan and urged the international community to help the government to continue providing assistance to displaced Syrians.
During a visit to Zaatari camp near Mafraq accompanied by ambassadors and charge de affaires of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Turkey, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand, Judeh voiced appreciation of Arab, and friendly countries as well as international organizations in Jordan for providing support to Syrian refugees.(QNA)
