Qatari company interested in construction projects of Chatkal and Kazarmanskaya HPPs

Bishkek, Oct. 11, 2022. /Kabar/. On October 9, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev, during his official visit to the State of Qatar, met with General Director of Nebras Power, Khalid Mohammed Jolo, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said. The Nebras Power company expressed its readiness to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in the energy sector. The Qatari company was interested in the construction projects of the Chatkal and Kazarmanskaya hydroelectric power plants (HPPs). The sides agreed to start expert work, as a result of which representatives of the Qatari company will arrive in Kyrgyzstan to discuss the construction of hydropower stations, the report said. Nebras Power is a state-owned company established in 2014. The company is a subsidiary of Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) and invests worldwide in renewable energy, fuel and logistics projects, desalination and water treatment, and district water/heating projects.
