Qatari Cabinet Holds Regular Session

Doha, August 08 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani chaired the Cabinet regular meeting, held this evening at the Emiri Diwan. The Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows: First - To take the necessary action to issue a draft law regulating the media activities, after taking note of the recommendation of the Advisory (Shura) Council . Second: Approved the Decree Law on the purchase, marketing, distribution and sale of chemical and petrochemical products subject to government regulation, produced in the State of Qatar. Third - approved the Ministry of Economy and Finance proposal to reward the staff of General Administration of Customs for outstanding performance. Fourth - Approved the following: - A draft agreement for cooperation in the cultural field between the Governments of Qatar and the Republic of Georgia. - A draft agreement between the Governments of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to taxes on income. Fifth. - took the necessary measures to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Sixth - The Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decision: 1 - A letter by the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning on the report of the First International Conference on Management of Municipal and Sustainable Urban Development in Arab cities (Kuwait - May 2012). 2 - A memorandum by the Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Chairman of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee on the Ninth Report on the results of the Committee's work during the period from 1/10/2011 to 31/03/2012.
