Qatar Wins Fourth Position in King Mohammed VI International Holy Qur'an Memorization Contest
Doha, February 01 (QNA) - Qatari contester Abdullah Hamad Al-Salem Buharidah has won the fourth place in the award of King Mohammed VI, International Qur'an Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation which concluded recently in Casablanca, Morocco.
Upon return to Qatar along with the Qatari delegation today Busharidh said he participated for the first time in this competition in the branch of the memorization, recitation of the whole Holy Quran with the interpretation of the thirteenth and fourteenth parts, explaining that he has benefited from such participation, especially in the interpretation and the meanings of words and expressions, as well as from the guidance and knowledge of Sheikh Mohammed Anani, the Qur'an memorization teacher at the Da'wa Department , in improving his recitation of the Holy Qur'an.
For his part, the contester's technical supervisor Sheikh Youssuf Mohamed Hashi praised the performance of Busharidah and his excellence in the first section of the Award: "Memorization of the Whole Holy Qur'an, its Recitation and Interpretation," which enabled him to achieve full marks in memorization and 99.7% in interpretation according to the Maliki school of thought.
The contest, organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Morocco, was joined by about 41 contesters from Qatar, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Mauritania, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Sultanate of Brunei, Comoros, Central African Republic, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Gambia, Gabon, Nigeria and Mali.(QNA)
