Qatar Welcomes Endorsement of MP Tammam Salam to Head Lebanese Government

Doha, April 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has welcomed the endorsement of MP Tammam Salam to head and form a new Lebanese government, An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Qatar, while appreciating the results of parliamentary consultations held by President Michel Suleiman, which led to Mr. Salam winning of (124) out of (128) votes, it hopes that this would be a step towards formation of a government acceptable to the Lebanese people, representing all political forces in order to strengthen the approach of reconciliation and national unity. The source added that Qatar congratulates Mr. Salam on the confidence he had received , and that it is (Qatar) convinced that he would do all that he could to serve his country and to address issues that facing Lebanon and the region.(QNA)
