Qatar Urges Libyans to Exercise Restraint

Doha, June 09 (QNA) - The State of Qatar has voiced great concern at the regrettable events that took place yesterday in Kofiya area of Libyan city of Benghazi, which left a number of people either killed or wounded, an official source at the Foreign Ministry told Qatar News Agency (QNA). The source urged the brotherly Libyans to exercise restraint at this critical stage of the history of their country - a stage that requires consensus building, mutual assistance and consolidation of national unity to find quick solutions to the spread of weapons, and to resolve any dispute between them through dialogue in order to preserve the security, safety and stability of their country and protect citizens. The source added that Qatar is strongly condemning such acts that lead to the unfortunate loss of innocent lives undermine security and stability and terrorize innocent people. He expressed Qatars condolences and sympathy to the Libyan government and the families of the victims who were killed in these tragic events, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. The source reiterated Qatar's firm positions renouncing violence in all its forms and manifestations. (QNA)
