Qatar, Turkmenistan , Joint Higher Committee Concludes Its First Meeting

Ashgabat, January 29 (QNA) - The joint higher committee of Qatar and Turkmenistan concluded its first meeting here on Tuesday . HE Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Autghority (ACTA) headed the Qatari side to the meeting while Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov led the other side. The two sides laid an emphasis on the two countries desire to expand scopes of bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially increasing trade exchanges in education, tourism, energy , air transport and sports. Both sides lauded the outcome of the visit of the Turkmen president to Qatar in October last year and the talks he had with HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, including the agreement to form the joint commission. The two sides lauded the fraternal atmosphere which prevailed over the committee's meeting and the level of understanding the two sides showcased on the bulk of files and topics taken up. At the end of the meetings, the two sides signed a cooperation protocol of the Qatar-Turkmenistan joint higher committee on economic and trade cooperation in addition to fields of energy, energy , communications, education and tourism . The said protocol was signed for qatar by HE Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, while it was signed for Turkmenistan by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. The meeting was attened by Qatar's ambassador to Iran and None-resident Ambassador in Ashgabat HE Ibrahim Bin Abdulrahman Al-Mighaseib and members of the delegation accompanying HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Autghority (ACTA). The aforesaid joint committee is slated to start its second meeting in Doha next year. Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, arrived in Ashgabat earlier Sunday on an official visit to Turkmenistan, heading Qatar's delegation to the first meeting of the High Qatari-Turkmenistani Joint Committee. HE Al-Attiyah was welcomed upon arrival at by Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow and Qatar's Ambassador to Iran None-resident Ambassador in Ashgabat, HE Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al-Mighaseib.
