Qatar Takes Part in King Abdulaziz Holy Quran Recitation Contest
Doha, December 14 (QNA) - the State of Qatar is to participate in the King Abdulaziz Holy Quran recitation competition due to kick off in Makkah Al Mukarramah tomorrow, Thursday and run to Dec.27 under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdaziz of Saudi Arabia.
Two Qatari students namely Jaber Yusuf Al-Tamimi who will compete in 10 parts of the holy quran and Abdulrahman Mohamed As-Sawadi who will contest in the 20 parts of the Holy Quran.
Al-Tamimi came in the first position in Tunis International Holy Quran Memorization Competition which was held last year in addition to taking part in several international competitions, while As-Sawadi had scored advanced positions in several contests.
Some 161 competitors will partake in the five branches of the competition representing 53 world countries. (QNA)
