Qatar Supports Linking Arab Electricity Grids-Al Sadah

Cairo, April 30 (QNA) -Qatar has made big strides towards utilizing new and renewable energy sources to be harnessed in the development process, Qatar's Minister of Energy and Industry Mohamed Saleh Al Sadah said on Tuesday. At the end of the 10 meeting of Arab electricity ministers in Cairo, he said Qatar started to produce 200 kilowatt of electricity from solar energy and a factory producing materials used in manufacturing solar panels is almost completed, he added. He said his country supported Arab electricity networking and expediting its completion. Al Sadah said the Cairo meeting focused on energy rationalizing, increasing the use of natural gas in power production and utilization of renewable energy sources, with emphasis on environmental issues.(QNA)
