Qatar Strongly Condemns Dealing with Egyptian Peaceful Sit-In Protesters
Doha, August 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar strongly condemns the way of dealing with the peaceful sitters-in at Rabaa al-Adawiya and Al-Nahda squares and which claimed a number of unarmed and innocent people, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The source noted that the State of Qatar wishes that those in power (in Egypt) to refrain and relinquish the security choice in countering the peaceful sit-ins and protests and maintain the souls of the Egyptian sitters-in.
The 25 Jan. Revolution has set the best examples in the peaceful sit-in and so did the sitters-in at Rabaa al-Adawiya and Al-Nahda squares and it is necessary to keep such a peaceful gesture of the sitters-in and not to push toward breaking the ranks of the brotherly Egyptian people since it is difficult to foresee the outcomes of these confrontations and their repercussions in future.
The State of Qatar sees that the secure and safe way to resolve such a crisis is the peaceful manner and the principle of dialogue between the parties who should live together within the framework of political and social pluralism and no one can exclude the other.
The calls made for dialogue could have been fruitful if they were followed by indications to show seriousness such as releasing the political detainees and halting the prosecutions and chases. (QNA)
