Qatar, Singapore Hold 5th Meeting of the Joint Higher Committee

Doha, March 13 (QNA) - The 5th meeting of the joint higher committee between the State of Qatar led by HH Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and the Republic of Singapore led by the Deputy Premier, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister of Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean who is now visiting Doha. The meeting was attended by a number of their excellencie the ministers While the meeting was attended on the singaporean side by their excellencies the members of the official accompanying delegation. At the outset of the meeting HH the Heir Apparent welcomed the Singaporean senior officials and the accompanying delegation and expressed satisfaction at the continuing progress the bilateral relations have been witnessing. HH the Heir Apparent also highlighted the positive outcomes of the former four meetings the joint higher committee convened and which resulted in the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) which covered several domains and which also contributed to enhancing and promoting ties of joint cooperation. HH Sheikh Tamim also underlined the significance of relations between Qatar and Singapore and determination to revitalize all these cooperation agreements. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ties of joint cooperation and means of boosting them in the several domains . A host of regional and international issues of mutual interest was also taken up. Following the meeting, HH the Heir Apparent and the Singaporean Deputy Premier, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister of Home Affairs witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the cultural field between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore , a memo of understanding in the environemental field , another one in the communication and information technology and the minutes of the 5th meeting of the joint higher committee. HH the Heir Apparent and the Singaporean senior official held a meeting prior to the joint meeting. Then HH the Heir Apparent hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Deputy Premier, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister of Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean and his accompanying delegation .(QNA)
