Qatar Prime Minister Calls for "Bold" Syrian Decision

Doha , January 23 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani called on the Syrian government to study the Arab League's suggestion, made yesterday, carefully. Speaking on the sidelines of the opening of the Qatar Motor Show 2012, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said that the government must be keen to protect the Syrian people. HE added that all the government needs to do is to make the bold decision of cooperating with the Arab League. On the Iranian issue, the Prime Minister said that he hopes for a change to the better in terms of tension between Iran and the international community. HE the Premier and Foreign Minister stressed that Qatar is keen to end the tension and is working on achieving that. He added that Iran is a neighboring country and as a result, they do not want any decision to be taken against it or against other nations in the region. On Iran's threat to close the Strait of Hormuz, he said that Hormuz is the property of the whole world, as it is an international strait which serves economies of all world countries. (QNA)
