Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra to Honor Villaggio Tragedy Victims on Friday

Doha, May 30 (QNA) -The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra is holding a memorial concert on Friday, June 1st, at Katara for the victims of the Villaggio blaze tragedy which occurred last Monday and claimed tens of lives and others injured. The orchestra said in a statement Wednesday there will be a moment of silence to mourn the victims' loss and to support their families. The Tenth Symphony of the Russian composer, Dmitri Shostakovich will be played to commemorate the victims. Also, Alastair Willis will conduct an orchestra, Violin Concerto , with the Lebanese composer Abdallah El Masri. Solo violinist from Ecuador, Jorge Saade will be performing as well. Earlier on Monady, a blaze erupted at Villagio mall around 11 am claiming 19 lives ; 13 children, 4 teachers, and 2 Civil Defence Personnel. (QNA)
