Qatar to Host International Working Group on Sanctions on Syria

Doha, July 17 (QNA) - Qatar will host next Thursday the third meeting of the international working group on sanctions on the Syrian regime. The group includes a host of countries from the Group of Friends of the Syrian People and aims to achieve greater effectiveness in the implementation of strict measures and coordination of sanctions against the Syrian regime. HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali bin Fahad Al Hajri will open the meeting. The third meeting of the International group is co-chaired by the State of Qatar, Japan and the United Kingdom. Qatar will be represented in this meeting by HE Sheikh Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani, Deputy Governor of Qatar Central Bank and Chairman of the National Anti Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee. The group's first meeting was held on April 17 in the French capital Paris, while the second one was held on June 6 in Washington. (QNA)
