Qatar to Host 36th Meeting of the Arab Statistical Technical Committee next Monday

Doha, March 14 (QNA) -The State of Qatar will host next Monday the 36th meeting of the Standing Technical Committee of Statistics of the Arab League , which lasts two days with the participation of 13 Arab countries as well as representatives from some organizations concerned with statistical work. During the meeting which HE Chairman of the Qatar Statistics Authority(QSA) Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani is to inaugurate , will address a set of items that will support Arab cooperation statistical, and getting acquainted with procedures taken by the concerned arab statistics organs to implement its own recommendations adopted by the thirty-fifth meeting of the Committee. The said committee will discuss proposals submitted by the number of Arab countries, including the use of modern technology in statistical work, and the development of statistical tools for devices using geographic information systems, standardization of methodologies used in the statistical surveys, and the implementation of some of the surveys, standard and joint field research and work to develop standards for data quality, and exchange of experiences between the arab statistics organs.
