Qatar to Host 2nd Arab Symposium for Young Volunteers

Doha, February 03 (QNA) - Qatar is to host the second symposium for young volunteers from March 2 to 8. Young volunteers from 16 Arab countries affiliated to the Arab Federation for Voluntary Activity will participate in the event. The first symposium of the young volunteers was held in the city of Bouznika in Morocco last year. In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), General Secretary of Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activity (QCVA) Youssef al-Kazim said that the event aims at spreading the culture of volunteerism in the Arab countries and in different Arab environments. He noted that the event will include a set of training workshops and diverse trainings focusing on voluntary activities, in addition to other educational and entertaining programs for the participants, in accordance with the vision set by HE the President of the Arab Federation for Voluntary Activity and Chairperson of Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activity (QCVA) Dr. Sheikha Mona bint Suhaim Al Thani. Al-Kazim explained that the vision is represented in creating a conscious generation of the concept of volunteerism and prepare it to engage in this vital and important work. He noted that the event will be held at Sharq Hotel under the patronage of HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari. (QNA)
