Qatar Foundation Launches News-Focused, Multi-Layered Website

Doha, March 23 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has today launched a new interactive website at qf.org.qa. With a heavy focus on news, and also housing comprehensive information about Qatar Foundation's many centres and initiatives, the site delivers fresh, ever-changing content and provides a user-friendly experience. The website is perfectly positioned to satisfy the public's growing appetite for online news. And, through a multi-layered approach to connectivity, it will facilitate knowledge transfer by bringing together several forms of communication under one umbrella. The qf.org.qa homepage offers quick and comprehensive information covering all aspects of the Foundation's work. Viewers can click on any one of the digital front-page images to access the most current articles, listen live to QF Radio in English or in Arabic, or click a tab to post a message on the organisation's social networking pages. And, its modern design allows users to enjoy an interactive experience and learn about all the key events and activities currently underway at Qatar Foundation s academic institutions and centres. The site's clear structure gives readers the option of browsing through individual articles, and of downloading one of Qatar Foundation's leading publications. These include Think, which is guided by an editorial committee of highly influential leaders, and attempts to explore global trends and compelling themes. Users can access the current issue or view archived editions of the magazine through the website. Haya Al Nassr, Director of Qatar Foundation's Communication Directorate, explained that qf.org.qa will be continuously updated with fresh content so as to better serve the needs of the local and international community, and keep them abreast of the latest events. "The launch of our new website is a reflection of the fact that people are increasingly looking online to access the latest news," she said. "We are confident that the new site will become a valuable and much-visited source of information within Qatar and beyond. It fits perfectly within the context of Qatar Foundation's ongoing effort to maintain its growing role as a promoter of news, research articles, ideas and events, both locally and abroad." Ms Al Nassr continued, "A wealth of information will be accessible for the public to learn from and to engage with. We have made several high-quality publications available online, among them Think magazine, which covers a host of scientific, economic, cultural, historic and environmental issues. This easily-accessible information will help us achieve Qatar Foundation's mission of fostering knowledge and building human capacity." Available in both English and Arabic, qf.org.qa is divided into essential sections including heritage, education, technology, research, community, environment, health, and leadership. Three other useful tabs, under the headings 'Enrol', 'Participate', and 'Explore', are found at the top of the homepage to provide insight into Qatar Foundation's academic programmes, planned lectures and upcoming exhibitions, as well as recent advancements and discoveries. The website boasts many other technical innovations, including user-friendly navigation and advanced search capabilities, ensuring it can be used as a practical reference guide. It provides reliable access to hundreds of articles and resources related to the innovative work that is being undertaken by Qatar Foundation's members and partners. With a responsive design that meets all relevant accessibility requirements, viewers can navigate the website through a wide range of browsers and mobile devices. They can also utilise a detailed interactive map to help them find the location of any academic institution, research facility, affiliated centre, or department within Qatar Foundation. (QNA)
