Qatar Customs Department to Mark Qatar National Sports Day

Doha, February 11 (QNA) - Qatar Customs Department will take part on Tuesday in the celebrations of National Sports Day with a variety of sporting activities for its employees, in the presence of Director General of Qatar Customs Department, Ahmad bin Ali Al Muhannadi. The committee responsible for the preparation of the National Sports Day had held several meetings to arrange programs and sporting activities in which all staff will participate, the Department said in a press statement, adding that the planned activities were designed to directly send a message to employees on the importance of sport and its role in building a healthy body capable of performing life's functions. The committee prepared a comprehensive program that includes a number of sporting games and other fun activities such as a football match in Qatar Sports Club and walking on the Corniche. The National Sports Day is celebrated every second Tuesday of February. It is part of Qatar's vision to help local institutions create a healthy community, with a mission to promote sports, physical education and sustainable development in the State of Qatar. (QNA)
