Qatar, China Hold Official Talks

Doha, January 18 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the People's Republic of China held here today a session of official talks led by HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and HE Wen Jiabao, Premier of the Chinese State Council. Talks during the session dealt with bilateral ties between the two countries and means of promoting them in various fields besides regional and international issues of mutual concern. The talks were attended by of number of Their Excellencies the Ministers. On the Chinese side, the session was attended by the members of the official delegation. Later, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani and the Chinese Premier witnessed the signing of an agreement to form a Qatari-Sino committee for investment cooperation between the Governments of the State of Qatar and the Republic of China; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on forests, combating desertification and the protection of wild animals and plants between the Qatari Ministry of Environment and the Chinese Forest Service; a MoU between Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and the People's Bank of China (PBC); an agreement on crisis management between Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and a sharing agreement for the Donghai project between Qatar Petroleum International (QPI), PetroChina and Shell. THE Chinese Premier was accorded an official reception ceremony. (QNA)
