Qatar Charity Provides Assistance to Syrian Refugees in Jordan
Doha, March 17 (QNA) - A delegation from Qatar Charity will pay tomorrow, Sunday, a visit to the Syrian refugees in Jordan to provide assistance as part of its 'Sham and Yemen Relief Campaign'.
The Charity said that the visit comes after a similar trip by its delegation to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon where they delivered aid. The assistance provided is expected to benefit thousands of Syrian refugee families in both countries and includes food, shelter, health and medical assistance.
The delegation during his stay in Jordan is to visit Amman, Mafraq and Ramtha to learn about the situation of about 30,000 Syrian refugees, and launch its new phase of the relief campaign.
The assistance to be provided for about 100 families includes in-kind food aid, some basic needs and household items, in addition to rent assistance for 300 families, as well as an important aid in the context of health care such as payment of wages of doctors and nurses in temporary clinics set up for displaced people as well as provide quantities of drug.
Qatar Charity had launched a QAR 37 million campaign to help refugees in Syria and Yemen. The 'Sham and Yemen Relief Campaign' will provide urgent relief to those affected by the current unrest in Yemen, as well as alleviating the suffering of Syrian refugees on the borders of Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. It will provide food, medicine, shelter, help with livelihoods, psychological support and education. (QNA)
