Qatar Charity Organizes Orphans Festival in Somalia

Mogadishu, January 08 (QNA) - Qatar Charity has organized the third annual festival for orphans in the Somali capital Mogadishu, with the participation of 1,100 orphans under its sponsorship in the presence of senior officials and representatives of international organizations working in Somalia In a speech during the festival, held under the slogan: ' Smile of an Orphan is our Aspired Wish', Director of Qatar Charity office in Mogadishu Mohammed Hussein Omar said Qatar Charity is currently sponsoring over an five thousand and three hundred orphans in Somalia under the supervision of local associations, explaining that the society provides them with a variety of activities and programmes within the framework of a comprehensive care. He added that the main objective of this annual festival, which is the third of its kind, is to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of the largest possible number of orphans in Somalia, to encourage the spirit of fair competition between them, and showcase their talents, interests, and desires. According to a press release, Qatar Charity now sponsors about 58,000 orphans in thirty countries in different regions of the world including Asia, Africa and Europe with a focus on poor countries and those of exceptional circumstances. .
