Qatar Aspire Holds Several Activities on Sports Day
Doha, February 12 (QNA) - Aspire Academy has held several Sports Day activities and opened its doors for everyone and all age groups of citizens and residents, Aspire Zone Foundation's Public Relations and Media Manager Hamad Saif Buhindi said.
Speaking to QNA, Buhindi said participants were up to 25,000, noting that Aspire's interest in the Sports Day stems from the similarity between its goal and that of AZF, which is enhancing sports culture in the society and encouraging people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Buhindi said 25 companies held their own events in Aspire Zone, adding that AZF has three main events, namely: Fun Race, in which 2000 competitors participated; Journey to Remember, which saw around 6,000, where participants were due to walk in places they do not usually have access to such as football pitches and athletes' training grounds; and the Torch Hotel will light up with power provided by human energy supplied from cycling exercises.
An American football competition will be held as well for the first time in Qatar, Buhindi said, noting that all activities were supervised by AZF experts and specialists in the different sports. (QNA)
