Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee Board Holds Meeting

Doha, February 13 (QNA) - Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee Board held today its first meeting this year the Emiri Diwan, chaired by HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is also the Chairman of the Committee. The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of HH the Emir and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee as well as members of the Committee. The meeting discussed the items on the agenda and take the necessary decisions. The meeting ratified the minutes of the second meeting of the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, which was held last year .. The meeting also reviewed the steps completed for technical projects for hosting the World Cup 2022 and the comprehensive review of the general plan for the projects in its first edition. The Committee approved the proposed site of the Lusail Stadium, then, a comprehensive overview of the other stadiums sites were also made. The meeting also discussed details of the consultancy tender project management of al Wakrah Stadium, and other one regarding the consultancy tender of the Al Wakra playground design, besides the proposal for amending the scale of financial powers. The meeting also discussed the follow-up report on the security committee and another one on the national heritage committee as well as issues and topics related to the Committee's tasks, projects and its preparations for the World Cup 2022.(QNA)
