QAPCO Publishes 2012 Sustainability Report

Doha, June 04 (QNA) - Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) has published its sustainability report for 2012, which reflects the company's contributions to achieving the aspirations of Qatar National Vision 2030, and the National Development Strategy 2011-2016. Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of QAPCO Dr. Mohamed Yousuf Al-Mulla, presented in a press conference on Tuesday, some of the Highlights of the report, saying that the company achieved numerous signi?cant accomplishments in 2012, including reaching 13.4 million employee exposure hours with zero lost-time incidents. The Qatarization ratio in the company has reached 28 percent, he said explaining that it is inline with the National Vision 2030, where the company focuses on the human assets and building the capacities of the future's leaders. QAPCO is a genuine partner to the community, said Dr. Al-Mulla explaining that the company, in 2012, invested QAR 8 million on social responsibility programs, to strengthen the cohesion and solidarity with the community. He added that sustainable management and preparation of such reports that are based on global performance indicators will serve as an incentive for the company to achieve its ambitions, stressing that sustainability is not a marketing tool or a new trend followed by the company, but rather measurement tool for transparency through clear key indicators for sustainable development performance and reporting.
