QAPCO Implements High-Tech Resume Registration at Qatar Career Fair

Doha, April 02 (QNA) -Continuing to Achieve its Ambitious Qatarization aims, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) is gearing up for the most successful Qatar Career Fair to date, by implementing a high-tech online resume registration solution. QAPCOs recruiters are targeting Qatari student and professional registrations as part of its award-winning Qatarization strategy to further increase the participation of Qatari nationals in its workforce, said QAPCO in a press release issued here Tuesday . "We aim to secure interest from as many Qataris as possible at this years career fair, by providing a state-of-the-art electronic r?sum? registration solution," explains QAPCOs Vice Chairman and Chief Executive officer Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al-Mulla. "Of course, we will also be accepting traditional hardcopy curriculum vitas (CVs) from young Qataris keen to learn more about QAPCOs career opportunities," he said. QAPCOs Human Resources team, which features three dedicated career counselors, is targeting the CV registrations at the fair to help the company achieve its ambitious growth plans. The registrations will also help support QAPCOs award-winning Qatarization strategy, which aims to fulfill the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani the Emir of the State of Qatar to increase the participation of Qatari nationals in the workforce. "By submitting their details at the careers fair via our electronic solution, Qatari job-seekers and students will have their expressions of interest processed swiftly and efficiently," continues Dr. Al-Mulla. "It will potentially signify their first steps on an exciting, challenging and rewarding career path with one of Qatars leading employers." As a result of its commitment to Qatarization, QAPCOs workforce now includes over 30% of Qatari citizens, and, according to Chief Administration Officer (CAO) Rashid Al Sulaiti, the plan is that this years career fair will increase that number. "QAPCO offers young Qatari students and experienced professionals alike diverse and dynamic opportunities across a range of engineering, scientific and commercial disciplines," said Al Sulaiti. "We are pleased and privileged to be able to provide Qatari students with fully funded undergraduate scholarships, training and summer internships as part of our commitment to increasing the number of Qataris on our workforce." QAPCOs commitment to Qatarization was acknowledged last year, when for the second consecutive year it was honored with the prestigious Qatar Petroleum Annual Qatarization Award. According to Human Resource & Learning Manager Nasser Al Hajri, QAPCOs Qatarization strategy underpins the companys drive to secure online and hardcopy registrations at the event: "Although we have won an Annual Qatarization Award for two successive years," he says, "we do not rest but constantly strive to attract the best Qatari graduates and professionals with exciting and varied career opportunities. "We will have managers present on our stand on each day of the fair, so that visitors can talk to specialists about career opportunities specific to their area of study or expertise," added Al Hajri. Running from 1st to 6th April 2013 at the Qatar National Convention Center, this years Qatar Career Fair is, according to the events organizers, aimed at "empowering Qatari youth to take charge of their own future". Over 125 exhibitors will be joining QAPCO at the event, which is the highlight of Qatars annual recruitment calendar. Qatari students and professionals are encouraged to visit the QAPCO stand, number EI-P03 in Hall 9, at the Qatar Careers Fair, where they will learn about the exciting career and scholarship opportunities available.
