Public Security Chief receives French ambassador

Manama, Apr27(BNA)Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan today received French Ambassador to Bahrain Christian Testot and discussed medical and emergency services cooperation, highlighting the possibility of benefiting from French expertise for the central ambulance project (SAMU). Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan said that the project is supported and followed up by Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and it comes to meet the requirements of the public to enhance rescue and general safety services. It was decided that a delegation from emergency medical services in France (SAMU) to visit Bahrain from May 3 to 9 to learn about the progress of the national rescue operation room and buildings of ambulance stations, in addition to the required manpower and training. The French delegation will also learn about ERs at government and private hospitals. The planned central ambulance project will be under the civil defence services and will serve the five governorates. A H N
