Public Security Chief: Mugsha gathering has not been approved

Manama, Apr. 9. (BNA) -- Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Hassan Al Hassan today stated that the gathering which some political association intend to hold in Mugsha on Friday has not been approved, and therefore, participation in it is illegal and legal actions will be taken against violators. Al-Hassan explained that such a gathering may disrupt the interests of the citizens and residents, just like previous ones in which numerous violations occurred. He stressed that acts of violence pose a threat to civic peace, and are not part of the “responsible” freedom of expression guaranteed by the kingdom’s constitution. He added that policemen, deployed across the kingdom, are assuming their duties of reinforcing the law and public order for the sake of promoting security and stability and protecting lives and property.
