Production of fish in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 10.5 thsd tones in 2021

In Kyrgyzstan, the total production of fish in 2021 amounted to almost 10.5 thousand tons, Director of the Fisheries Department under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Edil Niyazov said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency. He noted that a number of activities were conducted last year on artificial reproduction of natural reservoirs with fishery purposes. These include Issyk-Kul, Son-Kul lakes and Orto-Tokoi, Toktogul reservoirs. A total of 17 million 600 thousand pieces of juvenile trout, whitefish and carp were released. "According to the Fisheries Department, the total production of fish in 2021 made 10 thousand 344 tons. 5 thousand 139 tons were exported to Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries," Niyazov added.
