Prime Minister Meets EU Ambassadors To Iraq

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed with ambassadors of the European Union countries their contribution to the reconstruction of Iraq. "During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation with the EU countries and their contribution to the reconstruction of Iraq after the victory over terrorist Daesh gangs in addition to the situation in the region," Prime Minister's press office said. Abadi stressed the importance of cooperation and strengthening relations with the EU countries, noting that we are trying to be our relations with all countries on the basis of common interests and non-interference in internal affairs. He pointed out that the Kuwait conference was successful in giving a message that the world extends its hand to Iraq for its reconstruction and stability after defeating Daesh. Haidar al-Abadi said that we have other challenges after we succeed in overcoming the challenge of the terrorist gangs, including the reconstruction of the country and the provision of employment opportunities and we will change these plans and stimulate the private sector. He pointed out that our forces currently enjoy high professionalism and have operations to track terrorist cells after the liberation of all Iraqi territory, stressing that work is continuing to limit the arms within the state. Meanwhile, the ambassadors of the European Union countries praised the reformist steps of Abadi and the victory over Daesh gangs, stressing the continued support of their countries for Iraq, reconstruction and stability./ End
