Prime Minister Calls on Islamic Countries to Take Advantage of Potentials
HE the Prime Minister said with regard to human resources, the population in the Muslim world exceeded a billion and a half, or 25 per cent of the world's population with a high percentage of them at the work age but have no available jobs for them to work and therefore will not we take advantage of this human resource is important unless reversed on unemployment and contribute to the provision of skilled labor.
With regard to food security, HE the Prime Minister said, cultivated area in the Islamic states totals 14.09 per cent of the overall area while there are vast areas of arable land yet to be exploited, though we spend more than USD 35 billion annually to import food, stressing that the same applies to national resources natural and energy. He explained that the share of the Muslim world accounts for considerable quantities of these resources, particularly oil by 35 percent and phosphate by 29 percent and 35 percent tin and 12 percent manganese and iron increased by 2.2 percent.
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim said that the power output of 5.37 of the total energy produced in the world does not use them only 27 percent and there is a surplus in energy up to 6.72 percent was supposed to be utilized in the settlement of new industries to fill the shortage suffered by the Muslim world and reduce unemployment and reduce dependence on imports, which deplete the resources of these countries from foreign exchange.
