Presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan discuss wide range of bilateral co-op issues

Bishkek, April 20, 2022. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov held on Wednesday talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an extended format in Baku.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, including interaction in trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian and investment spheres, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.
Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the parties will be able to achieve maximum results as a result of the negotiations.
He noted that the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership is a significant event, as over the years of bilateral cooperation between the countries there has been no relations of such a high level.
The president of Azerbaijan added that a wide range of issues - cooperation on investment projects, interaction in agriculture and development of transport infrastructure - was discussed during face-to-face talks.
In turn, addressing Aliyev, Sadyr Zhaparov stressed the symbolism of this meeting held on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
He emphasized that current profound changes in the world give the parties a historic chance to build a new type of relations and there are ample opportunities for practical cooperation, especially in the trade and economic sphere.
The Kyrgyz leader noted the ongoing steps to liberalize the economy, improve the investment legislation, due to which the investment cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with other countries is intensified.
Presdient Zhaparov invited Azerbaijani business circles to actively explore investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan, focusing on free economic zones, preferential tax and customs regimes, which will contribute to enhancing business cooperation.
He also invited his counterpart to visit Kyrgyzstan at any time convenient for him. The Azerbaijani leader gladly accepted the invitation.
