President Zhaparov receives Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov

Bishkek, July 28, 2022. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received on Thursday Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov, his press service reported. An exchange of views took place on cooperation between the prosecution bodies of the two countries and security at the national, regional and international level. The Kyrgyz leader noted that cooperation with Russia is especially important for Kyrgyzstan because of the historical and cultural affinity of the two peoples, traditional bonds of friendship, common interests in security, politics, economics, military-technical and cultural-humanitarian fields. In turn, Igor Krasnov expressed gratitude to the president of Kyrgyzstan for the opportunity to meet and the warm welcome. The prosecutor general of Russia added that today the two countries face common challenges and threats of cross-border nature - extremism, terrorism, illegal migration flows, as well as illicit trafficking of weapons and drugs. He also said that an agreement was signed today between the Prosecutor General's Offices of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, which defines a number of priority areas of joint work for the coming years. Igor Krasnov expressed confidence in further increasing joint interaction and support for each other in solving a number of problems, including those related to transnational crime. At the end of the meeting, the sides noted the focus on the development of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in order to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as the interests of society for the benefit of the people of the two states.
