President Salih Assures a Russian Envoy The Need To Support Regional Dialogue To Ease Tensions

Baghdad / NINA / - The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today, Tuesday, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President's special envoy to the Middle East. A presidential statement said: Bogdanov conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Barham Salih, while President passed his greetings through Bogdanov to President Putin. During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two friendly countries and their strengthening in all fields, cooperation in the field of security and defense, reviewing economic, commercial and cultural cooperation for the benefit of both countries and peoples, referring to the work of the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee and following up on the signing of agreements and understandings reached by them. President Barham Salih stressed the need to maintain dialogue and convergence in the region's issues, ease the tensions surrounding them, and work together to confront the challenges of terrorism, the economy and the climate.
