The President Receives Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Affirms Importance Of Strengthening Historical And Cultural Bilateral Relations

Baghdad / NINA /- The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, and discussed with him the development of bilateral relations, unification of efforts and the exchange of medical expertise to confront the outbreak of the Coronavirus. The President of the Republic stressed during the meeting, according to a presidential statement: "The importance of strengthening the historical and cultural partnerships and ties between the two brotherly countries," expressing Iraq’s aspiration to build advanced relations by raising the level of cooperation with Jordan in all fields to serve the common interests. The President also stressed the necessity of uniting efforts and working side by side and exchanging medical expertise between Iraq and Jordan in order to reduce the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, and to overcome its health and economic effects. In turn, the Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, to President Salih, affirming his country's intention to expand the horizons of constructive cooperation with Iraq in various levels in a manner that realizes the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for progress, stability and prosperity. During the meeting, conditions were discussed on the Arab and regional arenas, and coordinated positions between the two countries in order to alleviate the crises in the region. / End
