A presidential statement said "Barham Saleh welcomed His Majesty the King, who is visiting Iraq at his invitation, in his second country, wishing him a fruitful and successful visit. The official reception was held, including playing the national anthem of the Republic of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and inspecting the Presidential Guard. Upon the arrival of the President of the Republic and his guest to al-Salam Palace, they held a bilateral meeting, during which they emphasized s the depth of historical relations and common bonds between Iraq and Jordan, and the need to work to upgrade and develop them to serve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, and they also discussed a number of files of common interest to strengthen relations and expand them in political and economic levels and expand the horizons of cooperation in order to achieve mutual interests. During the meeting, they exchanged views on several Arab and international issues and stressed the important role of the two countries in consolidating peace and stability in the Arab and regional regions.
