President of Libya's National Congress Praises Qatar's Role Towards Libyan Revolution

Doha, May 05 (QNA) - President of Libya's General National Congress Dr. Mohammed Al-Maqrif stressed the depth and the strength of the relationship between the new Libya and Qatar, praising Qatar's generous and courageous role towards the Libyan revolution, exerted by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. In an interview with (Al Sharq) Qatari newspaper issued Sunday, Dr. Al-Maqrif said that one of the greatest meanings that they have lived when the Qatari blood mixed with the Libyan blood for the sake of freedom in the martyrdom of the Qatari photographer Ali AL-Jaber, stressing that the Libyan people will never forget the Qatari role with them. He said that Qatar's continuing political support at the international level for the Libyan revolution is very important, pointing out that there is a coordination between the attitudes in the political field to face all issues in the region, and also in the technical, economic and development cooperation as well as various fields, such as education, oil, gas, judiciary, fight against corruption and recovery of funds smuggled abroad. He saw that all these areas are open for cooperation and the new Libya will be an open country to the experiences of the people and the world, adding that the two country are bound by the same cultures, religion and interests. He revealed that coordination with Qatar affects the military field where it will be in the field of training, and there are numbers of students in the various military academies, adding that the issue of forming the armed forces comes on top priority for the Libyan state in the next stage. Regarding the looted money and the role of the UN representative Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, he pointed out that in the past there was a severe failure and they did not take the advantage of Al Marri's position as it should, expressing happiness to meet with him because they are in serious need of his experience in many areas, particularly in the fight against corruption. President of Libya's General National Congress pointed out that corruption in Libya is a heavy legacy inherited from the collapsed system, expressing regret that the corruption reached to the citizen himself.
