President Jeenbekov proposes to consider Zhaparov’s issue at parliament session

Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov addressed the newly elected Speaker of the country's Parliament Kanat Isayev with a letter. It says that the decisions of the Jogorku Kenesh on approving the program, determining the structure and composition of the Government, proposed by the candidate for Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov, were returned by the Presidential Administration to the Parliament in view of existing violations of the law. The head of state proposes to consider this issue at the next meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh in the prescribed manner, the President’s press service reported. President Jeenbekov returned on Tuesday to the country's parliament a decree on approving the program, structure and composition of the republic's government. The press service explained such a decision that there was no quorum at the extraordinary session of the parliament held on Oct. 10 and decisions made without a quorum are considered illegal and unenforceable. On Oct. 10, the parliament of Kyrgyzstan at its extraordinary meeting approved Sadyr Zhaparov as a prime minister of the country, as well as his program, structure and composition of the government.
