President Jeenbekov congratulates Kyrgyzstanis on Komuz Day

Bishkek, Sept. 9, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Sept. 9 President Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the Komuz Day (Kyrgyz national three-stringed musical instrument), his press service reported. The Kyrgyz president’s congratulations message says: "Dear compatriots! I congratulate you on the Komuz Day - the pride of our national culture, a special symbol of folk art! For our people, the komuz is not just a traditional musical instrument, but along with the pinnacle of our culture - the Manas Epic, an inexhaustible heritage that tells the glorious path of ancestors to future generations through melodies. Wonderful works, created by means of komuz, become known on the international arena for their philosophical depth and musical diversity. The Day of Komuz, which we celebrate for the second year in a row, will become a good tradition and will continue to occupy a worthy place in the cultural life of the republic. Let the voice of the ancient Kyrgyz komuz always sound!" By Presidential Decree of Sooronbay Jeenbekov on July 29, 2019 the Komuz Day annually celebrated on Sept. 9. Komuz holds a special place in the traditional culture of the Kyrgyz people. The melodies of the komuz carrying in themselves philosophical thoughts, lifestyle and culture, passed down from generation to generation, have survived till present days.
