President: Iraq Looks Forward To Building Distinguished Relations With Saudi Arabia

Baghdad, (NINA) - President Barham Salih said "The brotherly relationship between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has historic roots and is growing steadily in line with the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the two brotherly countries,". "Iraq is keen to build distinguished relations with the Kingdom and the rest of its brothers and neighbors in accordance with common interests," he said during a meeting with the Saudi delegation in the second session of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council headed by Minister of Trade and Investment Majid al-Kasabi. The president praised Saudi Arabia's support for the Iraqi people and the Kingdom's contribution to the reconstruction of its liberated cities and the assistance of refugees and displaced persons. The president explained that Iraq, after achieving the victory over terrorism represented by Daesh gangs, has become a magnet point for investors, especially that the prospects for investment in it have become promising for its openness to the world and good relations with many countries. For their part, the members of the Saudi delegation expressed their deep gratitude to President Saleh and his great role in consolidating relations between the two brotherly peoples, stressing the readiness of the Saudi businessmen and companies to contribute effectively and influential in the reconstruction of Iraq. The two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of upgrading them in various fields, as well as reviewing the results of the meetings of the second session of the Coordination Council between Iraq and the Kingdom and the agreements resulting from them./ End
