President Al-Bashir Stresses Sudan-Qatar Strong Relations

Doha, March 11 (QNA) - Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir underlined that the Sudanese-Qatari relations are deep-rooted and have been always strong and intimate despite the fluctuations and changes of government in Sudan. Speaking to the Qatari daily (Arrayah), President al-Bashir lauded the Qatari efforts exerted to resolve Darfur issue, stressing that the people of Darfur appreciate the Qatari efforts to achieve security and stability. The big events experienced by the Gulf region like the Gulf War have affected the relations between Sudan and the Gulf states except its relations with the State of Qatar, where relations have been warm and intimate, the Sudanese President said. President al-Bashir highlighted and appreciated Qatar's constructive role in the region, noting that the positions of Sudan and Qatar are identical on many regional and international issues. (QNA)
