Policemen murder attempt suspects on trial in June

Manama, May 28 (BNA): General Advocate Ahmed Al Hammadi said the Public Prosecution completed its investigations regarding the case of one of the terror cells involved in the detonation of an explosive device in Bani Jamrah area in a bid to murder two policemen. The Prosecution referred 29 suspects including 16 in custody to the fourth High Criminal Court after charging 27 suspects with the deliberate, premeditated attempt on 12 September 2014 to kill policemen Nussr Saeed Saleh and Yousef Mohammed Hashil. For this purpose they prepared an explosive device which they planted on the location where they wanted to lure them, Al Hammadi said. As soon as the on-duty victims arrived, the suspects detonated the explosive device to kill them, thus inflicting on them the injuries described in the forensic medical report. To implement their terrorist plot, the suspects detonated the explosive device, acquired, possessed and used an explosive device and other inflammable explosives, intentional damage and public rallying. They committed these crimes to implement a terrorist purpose, the General Advocate said. The second suspect was charged with training on the use of explosives with the knowledge of the twenty-eighth suspect. Five of the suspects were charged with acquiring and possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The Prosecution found the suspects guilty based on the evidences taken from the confessions of arrested suspects and testimonies from witnesses, medical and technical reports and inspections. The case has been set for court hearing on June 25 while a warrant of arrest was issued to arrest the fugitive suspects.
