Police-targeting terrorists to stand trial on June 21

Manama, May 19 (BNA): Terror Crime Prosecution has concluded its investigation in the case of a suspect attempting to kill two policemen and causing an explosion in Migsha village.
Chief Prosecutor Advocate General Ahmed Al Hammadi stated that the first suspect in the case had planned to target policemen stationed in the area. Following a close monitoring of on-duty policemen's movement, he noticed that they used the public toilet attached to the petrol station there.
He prepared a bomb and on January 31, planted it at the site. When he saw two policemen enter the public toilet, he detonated the homemade bomb through a mobile phone, causing the victims to sustain injuries.
The first suspect then headed to the home of the second suspect and told him about the crime he had committed.
The first suspect, upon his arrest, confessed the crime and the Prosecution ordered his imprisonment pending further investigations. He was charged with the premeditated murder of two on duty policemen, the possession of explosives, causing an explosion with the aim of terrorising citizens and residents and putting their lives at risk, disrupting public security for terrorist purposes, arson and destruction.
The second suspect, who is still at large, faces charges of failing to report to the competent authorities a crime committed for terrorist purposes.
The prosecution referred the suspects to the Fourth High Criminal Court to face trial on June 21.
It also ordered stepping up action to bring the second suspect to justice.
